There is a mistake of translation: general de brigade is translated as major general when in fact the correct translation is brigadier general. Am I right in concluding that there is also the rank of general de division=major general, whose insignia would be two silver stars?

Let me check the Osprey book on Central American Wars; I think they have Haiti's rank insignia.
BTW; Haiti abolished their armed forces in 1994 but is looking into reforming it as it is clear the Haitian National Police is not enough to battle the gang warlords.
