6-star and 5-star US Collar insignia

There have been interesting posts regarding the proposed 6-star insignia for US officers. While all proposals centered around shoulder insignia, no mention or suggestion was made at all regarding what, if anything, would be used for the collar. However, it is interesting to note that when the 5-star insignia was proposed, there was discussion on the use of collar insignia for that grade. It was suggested that either a small silver five-star pentagon would be worn alone (which was the final choice), or a small silver five-star pentagon along with a small gold US Coat of Arms.
