Btw, Mexican insignias, at least for government, did not change for a while. I got book from 1943, still somwhat the same!

Yeah, if you look at the rank insignia for the dress uniforms it is basically the same as the rank insignia worn by the Mexican Army in the Mexican War and Texas War of Independence!

BTW: that sounds like a good fictional rank insignia idea ... the Republic of Norte Mexico/Aztlan or whatever they want to call it.
