NCO Rank Insignia on Berets

Unread postby Caim_Dubh » Sat Jan 17, 2009 1:21 am

This is just a note of trivia. The US Army has proclaimed 2009 the Year of the Noncommissioned Officer. As part of this special recognition, sometime this calendar year the NCOs in the US Army will start wearing non-subdued rank insignia on their berets in place of their Distinctive Unit Insignia or Regimental Distinctive Insignia. No timeline for implementation, yet.

I personally believe the rank insignia should be placed on the right buttock by means of a temporary tattoo. Then it would be easy to change upon promotion.

Why the right buttock you say? Because it would be silly to put it on the left. smilies-15
