HYPOTHETICAL RANKS

U.S. Federal Constabulary Enlisted Rank Insignia

Dealing primarily with contemporary and historical Earth nations. (Science-fiction oriented rank systems, such as Star Trek, Starship Troopers, etc.), should be placed in FICTIVE Rank Insignia.

U.S. Federal Constabulary Enlisted Rank Insignia

Unread postby Chuck Anderson » Sun Jun 03, 2007 2:01 am

Hi Everyone!

Presented here are my illustrations of the hypothetical rank insignia for enlisted personnel of the equally hypothetical United States Federal Constabulary.

The U. S. Federal Constabulary are essentially military forces in immediate service to law enforcement. They are organized strictly along military lines and are part of the Justice Department. In times of declared war, they can be incorporated into the armed forces (much as the USCG is), but they still retain their identity as the Federal Constabulary.

Enlisted rank insignia are worn upon rectangular patches, on both sleeves, mid-sleeve between shoulder and elbow.
The enlisted ranks are as follows:

(E-1)--
RECRUIT [NO Rank Insignia] (Used in Boot Camp Only!!)

PRIVATE (PV-1) [Rectangular Patch with NO Rank Insignia Upon It] (Lowest Regular Enlisted Rank)
-------------------------------------
(E-2) PRIVATE (PV-2) [ONE Gold Chevron--Point Down; on rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-3) PRIVATE 1st CLASS [ONE Gold Chevron--Point Down; Under ONE Horizontal Gold Stripe; on rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-4) CORPORAL [TWO Gold Chevrons--Point Down; on rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-5)--
SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down; on rectangular patch]

*FIRST SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under Gold, hollow diamond shape; on rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-6)--
STAFF SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down under ONE Horizontal Gold Stripe; on rectangular patch]

*FIRST SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under Gold, hollow diamond shape, under ONE Horizontal Gold Stripe; on a rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-7)--
SERGEANT 1st CLASS [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under TWO Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]

*FIRST SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under Gold, hollow diamond shape, under TWO Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-8)--
MASTER SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under THREE Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]

*FIRST SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under Gold, hollow diamond shape, under THREE Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]
-------------------------------------
(E-9)--
SERGEANT MAJOR [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under FOUR Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]

*STAFF FIRST SERGEANT [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under Gold, hollow diamond shape, under FOUR Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]

STAFF SERGEANT MAJOR [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under ONE, 5-Pointed Gold Star, under FOUR Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]

COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under ONE, 5-Pointed Gold Star (within a Gold Wreath), under FOUR Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]

SERGEANT MAJOR of the FEDERAL CONSTABULARY [THREE Gold Chevrons--Point Down, under U.S. Eagle (set between TWO, 5-Pointed Gold Stars), under FOUR Horizontal Gold Stripes; on a rectangular patch]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The U.S. Federal Constabulary's warrant officer and officer rank insignia will be shown in subsequent postings.
Federal Constabulary warrant officer rank insignia is like that of the U.S. Army's old style warrant officer insignia from the 1960's and 1970's.

I like this Chuck! I actually came up with something very similar on my own with the same agency name lol. The difference is that the insignia is the same as the current US Army except chevrons are plain light blue and somewhat modified as in no Specialist and PFC wears 1 chevron and then it goes right to Corporal. Also in my proposal the 1 star rank is Assistant Deputy Commissioner, 2 stars is Deputy Commissioner, 3 stars is Assistant Commissioner and 4 is Commissioner.

Ill try and make a chart ...
