RANK INSIGNIA MINISTERIO DEL INTERIOR NICARAGUA 1988

Primer Comandante = One twenty-eight millimeters star inside a circular metallic laurel
Comandante de Brigada = One twenty-three millimeters star with a metallic diamond
Comandante de Regimiento = One red star of twenty-six millimeters
Comandante = One star of twenty-four millimeters on a bar
Sub-Comandante = One vertical bar with two bars broken in form of a "Y" to each side with the vertex toward the inside (?)
Capitán = Three bars broken in the form of a horizontal "V"
Teniente Primero = Two bars broken in the form of a horizontal "Y"
Teniente = One bar broken in the form of a horizontal "Y"
Sub-Teniente = One bar
Sargento Mayor = One line broken in the form of an "Y" on a horizontal line
Sargento = One horizontal line
