Of note was the fact that, probably to make interaction easier, they all wore RCMP insignias on their shoulder straps regardless of the ones worn by their home service. While most canadian municipal police services wear british (or british inspired) insignias and so appear to have a more or less one on one equivalent, those insignias stood out a fair bit on those who came from Quebec due to the stripes style insignias normaly worn by them.
In this picture, you can see a montreal police sergeant (left) wearing 3 chevrons and a crown instead of the usual stripe of the SPVM he would otherwise wear.
