Canadain Correctional Service: Old Ranks

There have been other rank structures for the Cdn Federal Prison system (I believe the one showing in the Canada pages are wrong) but in the 60s or so this was the rank:

All are a forest green strip on a brown-green slip-on and similar (though a bit thinner) to todays Cdn Forces Officer rank structure:

Correctional Officer 1 - one (1) strip at base of slip-on

Area Supervisor - two (2) stripes at base of slip-on with small space between each

Correctional Supervisor - three (3) stripes

Chief Keeper - four (4) strips

Before these ranks it appears the ranks were Chief Keeper and Keepers. A Chief Keeper had a gold embroided castle emblem on his sleeve and Keepers a slight blue cloth woven one. Unsure of time lines for these. There was also a rank system use castle turrets on the shoulder like UK "pips". Unsure of time frames and exactly who used though it appears more reflective to staff positions vice guards (hence the keeper insigna for them)
