Does Eritrea have a naval force?
What naval insignia did Ethiopia use when Eritrea was its seacoast?

Eritrea does indeed have a navy as you can see it is mainly patrol boats: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eritrean_Navy
Ethopia had a navy until 1996, the army now maintains at least 2 patrol boats.

considering their army and air force insignias are clearly inspired by the british model, I would assume the navy would follow suit. On this picture you can see an anchor one some on their uniforms which might represent a leading rate:

the boards on the pictures look green though, not brown. are these meant to be for some sort of dress uniform ?
Also, do you know when Eritrea changed to these ones ? I assume they wanted to distance themselves from the british model ?

Thankyou for the update. Do you think they are following any particular model? Could it be German? Do you know if they have changed the other ranks insignia from those depicted on these pages.

The use of stars for all officer ranks reminds me the Italian model; however, laurels below rank stars are tipically German.
