an online version of an article from "Scientia Militaria, South African of Military Studies" from the 1990s gives a brief written description of the first (and short lived) rank insignia system worn by officers of the South African Women's Auxiliary Army Service.
As the author gives no indication of the enlisted one, it could mean that they wore exactly the same insignias as their male counterpart but until I can find some sort of confirmation, I have decided to only include the 1940-1941 officers' shoulder slides.
