Unread postby kenneth » Sat Sep 04, 2004 2:10 pm

Hi All

The South African Correctional Services are back in a rank structure.
The structure is however not a military structure and we call it a
civilian insignia therefore we do not salute ext. There is also no need
currently for you to salute us.

I will try and place the structure in the attachments.

The metal objects are a gilded coat of arms and three different sizes of
protes. (Small, medium and large)

The Correctional Officer Grade III is wearing a shoulder flash with only
the Coat Of Arms on it. (This was the old Warder)

The Correctional Officer Grade II is wearing a shoulder flash with the
Coat Of Arms and one small protea on it. (This was the old Sergeant)

The Correctional Officer Grade I is wearing a shoulder flash with the
Coat Of Arms and two small proteas on it. (This was the old Warrant
Officer)

The Senior Correctional Officer is wearing three medium proteas on a
green epaulette on both shoulders. (This was the old Captain)

The Assistant-Director is wearing one big and one small protea on a
green epaulette on both shoulders. (This was the old Major/Lt-col.)

The Deputy-Director is wearing one big and two small proteas on a green
epaulette on both shoulders. (This was the old Col.)

The Director is wearing one big and three small proteas on a green
epaulette on both shoulders. (This is the old Brigadier)

The Deputy-Commissioner is wearing a Coat Of Arms and two medium proteas
on a green epaulette on both shoulders. (This was the old Major-General)

The Chief Deputy Commissioner is wearing a Coat Of Arms and three medium
proteas on a green epaulette on both shoulders. (This was the old
