Hi everybody!
Chuck Anderson here!!

I just got an answer to my inquiry to the New Zealand Coast Guard, and in a nutshell, they wear NO Rank Insignia! Here is their reply as it was written to me.

"Attn: Chuck Anderson

Dear Mr. Anderson

I refer to your email message of 1/1/03. Coastguard in New Zealand is a volunteer civilian organisation which provides Marine Search and Rescue services. We do not wear insignia of rank, because there is no formal rank structure in existence within our organisation. We have lines of authority which are recognised within the organisation to recognise various responsibilities.

Our operations are restricted to close to shore rescues. We are similar in structure to the RNLI in Great Britain and to some extent to the US Coastguard Auxilliary.

Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely

Kevin J Rangi
Chief Executive Officer
The Royal New Zealand Coastguard Federation"

No Rank Insignia here, but it was worth the try! See ya'!!
