Russian Rank Insignia

There is a store that sells rank insignia for Russia
http://www.tridentmilitary.com/RUSSIAN. ... oards.html
and http://www.tridentmilitary.com/RUSSIAN. ... forms.html

this would give you clues for russian rank insignia
and the Russian Naval Avation and Russian Naval infantry have ranks same as of those in the Army and look closely at the Uniforms page for color pipings for different services and the ranks are closely as the Army.
 :)

HI
The mentioned "tridentmilitary" has a lot off stuff from various countries. This can be a great picture resource becouse many offered items are photographed. But please be aware that some Russian shoulder boards are presented without real insignia. There were never in soviet history insignias without stars on shoulder boards. To the shoulder boards presented in "Tridentsmilitary" as for junior (one longitudal stripe) or senior (two stripes) officers there were always pinned (or sewed) actual insignia ie 5 pointed stars.
However in Tsarist Russia there were officer's and general's shoulder boards without stars. What's more unusual those without stars were the highest ranks in the category (No star general was higher then 2 star general). If anyone needs more details about Soviet and Russian insignia. let me know. I have a very detailed soviet book about all kind of uniforms and insignia since 1917 till 1992. Have also some books about Tsarist Russia (all in Russian unfortunately but I can read this)

They dont have the stars in it because they dont have the stars to pin the shoulderboards they might use it to show their merchandise but the rank insignia is generally the same.
