On January 18, 1943 the commander of the soviet artillery and a representative of the high command of the Red Army at the Stalingrad (Don) Front, colonel general of the artillery Nikolai Voronov was promoted to the rank of the Marshal of Artillery, less than two weeks after this rank has been created.
Till he received the shoulder insignia on mid-February, Voronov has been wearing his own collar pattern – crossed cannons (Red Army artillery emblem) above a big star of the marshal stile.

Interesting. Not sure, that his collar patches are black, though.

Other generals with Voronow are not wearing artillery emblems, yet their patches have the same shade - so it may be red or even green.
