The tong seems like it's rotated too much and placed too high.
Aside from that, nice find.

According to the dress regulations, this is a "Corps Dress Committee approved REME Rank slide". Do you have any other information?

Well, I have never seen the trade badge in real life, so I do not know.

Here is another REME thing I found when looking for the hammer and pincers. What's up with the blue shirts some of them are wearing?

I've never seen one in real life, nor do I know about the blue shirts.
That being said, the staff sergeant's insignia looks different than the WO's, at least to my eye. Look where the pincers are overlaid with the Hammer in the two pictures, and were the top and bottom align. That's where I see a difference.

The blue shirts are team shirts for the Bloodhound project (1600 km/h car), with the REME device on the right breast and the Army logo on the left sleeve.
