Interesting, tho' - police forces generally have far fewer ranks than armies. I can't read Spanish so I can't see what the thinking was.

In this version, the only substantial increase in the number of ranks are the three new senior ranks. For a national police force CNP have had a very flat rank structure in the top, with subordinate chiefs having the same ranks as their superiors.

I believe the lowest rank might be Jefe Superior de Policía
since the rank insignia is as for the present functional insignia of that position (now becoming a rank):

It seem to be confirmed that new rank insignia will be put into use.
