According to this uniform manufacturer's catalogue, Norwegian fire brigades' rank markings are in the form of arm titles with written rank designations:

210 362 Branninspektør = Fire Inspector/Divisional Officer
210 363 Overbrannmester = Senior Fire Master/Assistant Divisional Officer
210 364 Brannmester = Fire Master/Station Officer
210 365 Underbrannmester = Sub-Fire Master/Station Officer
210 366 Konstabel = Constable/Firefighter
210 367 Formann = Foreman/Leading Firefighter

The Norweigan Association of Fire Officers recommendations for rank insignia. Text (in Norwegian): http://www.nblf.no/arkiv_vis.asp?NyhetID=554

By the way, text in the Encyclopedia seems to have been garbled: http://www.uniforminsignia.org/index.ph ... 7&sid=2242

New uniform regulations 2012:
http://www.nblf.no/notater/Uniformsbestemmelser.pdf

Rank insignia, page 7f.

As compared with the above figure, there is a change from rank to role, and more brass for the same level. For example Brannmester became Brigadeleder and moved up two levels in the insignia system.
