It appears that the Swiss Frontier Guard has new rank insignia. Does anyone have any details on the exact system?

^ appears to either be outdated or this is part of the Swiss Federal Police rank insignia

Well, at least they have new blue uniforms. The old green uniforms are replaced by blue uniforms looking like the other Schengen-states.

The rank insignia look the same though.

Judging from the Swiss system of ranks and insignia I would assume the ranks go all the way up to Colonel.
1 thin bar - Lt
2 thin bars - 1st Lt
3 thin bars - Capt
1 thick bar - Major
2 thick bars - Lt. Colonel
3 thick bars - Colonel
