The Norwegian Prison Service (Fengselsvesenet) has changed name to the Norwegian Correctional Services (Kriminalomsorgen).

It has also changed coat of arms.

The Norwegian Correctional Officers Federation has come up with suggestions for a modified rank insignia system:

http://www.stl.no/ky/dokumenter/050215_Vedlegg_2.pdf

Gold stripes should be introduced to show seniority: 0-10 years = one stripe; 10-20 years = two stripes; 20 years and above = three stripes.

Different functions should be denoted with distinctive letters:
S = Security
M = Environment
D = Workshop

The rank insignia should be similar to the police, to ease co-operation and communication, especially in emergencies.

Uniforms and rank insignia should also be introduced for Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, and the Director General of the Correctional Services.
